Local nonprofit organization “Interlink” has been collecting and analyzing Census data for the Lewis-Clark Valley for the past 3 ½ years. To assist them, they conducted a series of nine “Senior Summits” between 2022—2024 that brought together over 100 community members to look at the data and determine how our aging population will affect the future of the Valley.
Our speaker, Mark Havens, has served as Interlink’s executive director since 2019. He has worked for senior citizen and health care organizations for the past 20 years. Prior to that, he worked for the Lewiston School District as its community relations director and foundation director for 16 years.
At the August 14 luncheon, Mark will share some of the Census data about how the Valley’s population has aged and is expected to age even more – and what the implications are for businesses especially in the areas of labor force, housing, and health care, among other things.
